Naomi Schulze is a professional t-shirt slinger/designer who (due to a very small apartment in the city) turned to the world of embroidery. Born and raised in Humboldt County, California, Naomi attended the local University, studied design, and in a whirlwind of events, fell in love with the garment industry.

As a self-starter who didn’t know much about the industry, she took the summer of 2015 to travel cross-country in the pursuit of t-shirts. Living out of her car, hopping from garment industry conference to conference Naomi stumbled upon WMC 6. Leaving WMC that year, she made it a goal to one day be up on that stage. Due to a location change, that never happened, but it lit a flame. At this point, Naomi felt that design education and public speaking were both in her future.

Currently, Naomi owns and operates Maeke Apparel, a screen printing/embroidery shop in Campbell, California, and travels frequently with her own sports apparel sub-brand. Additionally, she works on her passion project Render which was started in early 2017 and is used as a creative outlet, and tool for experimenting with new embroidery techniques and methods. Naomi has worked as a graphic artist/shop production manager at multiple t-shirt hubs, is currently writing a book about “The Garment Industry for the Traditionally Trained Graphic Designer.” In January of 2018, Naomi will embark on an absurdly fulfilling side hustle as a seminar instructor/embroidery education specialist at ISS shows (Imprinted Sportswear Seminars) nationwide.
