We here at Go Media are super excited to have Airtype Studio as one of our exclusive Platinum Sponsors for this year’s WMC Fest. Check out our interview with Airtype Studio for more about their company and why they are pumped to be a part of WMC Fest 2012.
1. Tell all the WMC readers who you are, what your company is, and what it’s all about?
My name is Bryan Ledbetter and I’m a has-been rocker, flatland bmx’er, dad of three, and captain of Airtype Studio. Launched in ’06, Airtype is a small creative shop located in Winston-Salem, NC. We are in the business of flawlessly executing rock-solid ideas for great brands, both big and small. At the core, Airtype is about passion, innovation and collaboration. Everyone from developers to managers are considered creatives and we all share input on strategy, ideas, and methods. I’m driven to build Airtype not based on what I want it to be, but what I don’t want it to become.
As tempting as it can be to take every project that comes through the door, we’ve found that we reach our best results when we’re passionate about the work we do. We choose clients and projects based on how strongly we believe we can transfer that passion along to the customers.
2. Why did you decide to sponsor WMC Fest?
Airtype’s foundation was built on the music industry, action sports and the diy/grassroots spirit. WMC is not only the type of event we would prefer to attend, but support as well. Doesn’t hurt that the fab crew of Go! Media are behind this thing either!
3. What music/bands are you listening to currently?
Office playlist heavy rotation: Youth Lagoon, Elbow, Jeremy Current, Lower Dens, Arms, Cass McCombs, Walkmen, Charles Bradley, Cotton Jones
4. Any artists/designers these days that you’re digging?
Simon Walker, Matt Lehman, Invisible Creature, Aardvark Brigade Crew, Edwin Tofslie
5. Who are you most looking-forward to seeing at WMC Fest?
That’s a tough one with such a great lineup! Really looking forward to seeing old friends, making a bunch of new ones and leaving inspired.
6. Any last words for our readers? How can they get in touch with you?
Choosing the easiest path is not always the best decision. Stay true to yourself, work hard, keep learning and be humble. There’s always someone better than you, but there’s no one exactly like you.
