Being that Weapons of Mass Creation is just an awesome event it needed an awesome content management setup.

The WMC site is built on Wordpress – often a preferred CMS choice of developers when a site is lightweight and needs to be user friendly. Using some pretty clean HTML5 templates from Jason Walker, the WMC Wordpress was developed with a number of admin features to make managing the content of the site quick and easy.

Globally the admin panel has a WMC Settings panel that control all global elements of the site with simply text entry or the click of a text box. For example, the ability to show or hide the line up is built into this settings panel. For example, currently the line up is toggled to be hidden. Three different custom content types were created to prevent inline HTML and cumbersome use of custom fields. These custom content types make adding and associating content, images, media etc to post super simple.

The WMC Wordpress was developed by me, Bret Glassett – a Denver based web developer who specializes in content management systems and ecommerce on Wordpress, Drupal and Magento platforms.
